Product Description

This earth rod and clamp set gives off-grid solar PV systems a proper earth connection. Inverters and consumer units need an earth point just like any other domestic electrical installation. The rod is driven into the ground and linked to the inverter earth terminal and consumer unit using 6mm² earth cable.

Applications

Used for earthing off-grid solar PV systems, connecting to inverter earth terminals, and providing the consumer unit earth connection in off-grid installations.

Installation and safety notes

Earthing work must be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671. Drive the rod into ground that stays moist throughout the year to get adequate earth resistance. One rod may not be enough in every soil type, so ask your electrician whether an earth resistance test is needed. This rod does not replace any other earthing requirement in a solar or electrical installation.
