Product Description

The Victron MIDI fuse 100A/58V-M6 is a bolt-terminal DC fuse for overcurrent protection on high-current cables in battery and solar systems. It is sold as a pack of five, giving installers a consistent supply for protecting battery banks, inverter feeds and charge controller outputs across 12V, 24V and 48V systems.

Key features

  • Rated current, 100A
  • Rated voltage, 58V DC, covering 48V battery bank charging voltages
  • Terminal type, M6 bolt for a firm, low-resistance connection
  • Form factor, MIDI, fitting standard MIDI fuseholders including Victron's own range
  • Pack quantity, 5 fuses
  • Weight, 0.015 kg per pack

Applications

These fuses protect DC cables in 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems, including inverter and inverter/charger feeds in off-grid and backup power setups. They suit marine and narrowboat distribution boards, motorhome and caravan wiring, and solar charge controller outputs. The bolted MIDI format is preferred over blade fuses in higher-current circuits exposed to vibration, such as vehicles and boats, where a loose connection can cause resistance and heat.

Single-use protection

Like all fuses, these are single-use devices and must be replaced after any overcurrent event.

Installation notes

Fit into a MIDI fuseholder rated for the circuit's voltage and current, and torque the M6 bolt to the fuseholder manufacturer's specification. Isolate the battery before replacing a fuse. Do not use in AC circuits or in applications exceeding 58V DC. DC work on battery, inverter and solar systems should be carried out by a qualified installer.
