Energy savings

Ledison states this tube saves 70% more electricity than traditional LED tubes and 200% more electricity than fluorescent tubes. It suits parking garages, warehouses, offices, corridors and factories, where lights only need to be at full output when someone is actually present.

Modes of operation

Two dimming modes are available. In 2-step dimming, the tube turns on at full brightness when movement is detected, dims to 20% after 30 seconds, then stays on until the next detection. In 3-step dimming, the tube switches on, dims to 20% after 30 seconds, then switches off completely after 1 minute.

Detection uses the Doppler principle: a radar signal is emitted and read back to sense movement nearby. Maximum sensing height is 10 metres, with a radius coverage of up to 25 metres. Outside these settings, the tube simply follows the mode you've configured.

Photocell and dimming

The photocell means the tube won't fire up unnecessarily during daylight hours, and the tube itself is not dimmable outside of its own sensor-driven modes.
