About PV Combiner Boxes

PV combiner boxes sit between your solar panels and the inverter, bringing multiple strings together into a single output while giving installers a safe, isolated point to control and protect the array. Options here range from simple DC switch boxes with 1-way input and output through to multi-string units with 8 or more inputs, some with surge protection and DC isolation built in.

Surge protection devices from established makers use specific varistors to guard against lightning and switching surges in PV networks, protecting either common mode or common and differential mode circuits. You'll also find AC combiner boxes for pairing twin inverters or metering output, arc fault circuit interruption (AFCI) boxes, fire-fighter rapid shutdown switches, and current monitoring systems for tracking individual string performance.

Installers working on larger arrays with multiple MPPT chargers or non-standard string counts can get a combiner box built to a specific configuration. Get in touch if the range here doesn't cover your exact requirement.
