Product Description

The Victron GX WiFi Module Long Range is a USB WiFi adapter built around the Netgear AC1200 chipset. It extends wireless connectivity for Victron GX devices where the onboard antenna cannot reach the router, such as behind bulkheads, in metal enclosures or across longer distances on off-grid sites.

Applications

Useful anywhere the GX device sits away from the router: below deck on a boat, inside a motorhome's metal bodywork, or in a remote cabin where the inverter and battery enclosure is some distance from the access point. It suits any GX installation that needs a reliable WiFi link to VRM but where running Ethernet cable is not practical.

Installation notes

Plug the adapter into a free USB port on a compatible GX device running a current Venus OS version. Check compatibility with your specific GX model and firmware before fitting. No electrical qualification is needed to connect the adapter itself, though the surrounding inverter, battery and solar system should still be installed by a qualified installer.
