Product Description

The Victron Energy Meter VM-3P75CT is a three-phase energy monitoring device built for use with Victron GX systems. It measures import and export energy across all three phases, giving installers accurate, real-time visibility of grid consumption and feed-in. It suits residential, commercial and off-grid hybrid installations that need precise energy accounting.

Key features

  • Three-phase metering, individual phase measurement for accurate grid monitoring.
  • 75A current transformers, split-core CTs included for non-invasive current measurement.
  • RS485 connection, integrates directly with Cerbo GX, Venus GX, CCGX and other Victron GX devices.
  • Import and export measurement, suited to solar feed-in monitoring and grid interaction tracking.
  • 0.25 kg weight, fits inside a consumer unit or distribution board enclosure.
  • VRM portal compatible, remote monitoring and historical energy data logging.

Product overview

The VM-3P75CT connects to a Victron GX device over RS485 and reports real-time power, voltage, current and energy totals for each phase. This feeds directly into the GX device's energy management logic, which uses it to make decisions about battery charging, grid feed-in and load management. Accurate per-phase data matters for correct system behaviour and for regulatory compliance on three-phase hybrid or grid-tied installs.

The included 75A split-core CTs clip around existing conductors, which simplifies retrofitting into switchgear that is already in service. The meter runs on a standard RS485 bus, and a single GX system can host multiple meters where more than one measurement point is needed, such as a generator input or a sub-distribution board.

Readings are visible locally on a connected GX display and remotely through the Victron VRM portal, useful for tracking consumption, checking solar yield against grid import, and producing energy reports for commercial sites.

Applications

  • Grid import and export monitoring on three-phase residential or commercial solar installations.
  • Feed-in metering for ESS configurations with battery storage and grid interaction.
  • Secondary metering of a generator input or sub-distribution board within a GX system.
  • Retrofit energy monitoring in existing three-phase switchgear without circuit interruption.
  • Commercial sites needing per-phase data for billing, reporting or load balancing.

Installation notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Work inside a live distribution board or consumer unit carries risk and must comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). The meter connects to a Victron GX device via RS485; check whether an RS485 to USB interface cable is needed if the GX device lacks a dedicated RS485 port. For grid-connected systems under G98 or G99 conditions, confirm meter placement and configuration meet DNO requirements. Do not exceed the 75A CT rating on any phase.
