Product Description

The Victron SolidSwitch 104 is a solid-state load switching module built to work with Victron Battery Management Systems. It gives a controlled, low-loss switching path for DC loads, replacing the mechanical relays often used in BMS-controlled circuits. It suits professional battery system integrators and off-grid installers working with the Victron BMS range, including setups built around a lifepo4 lithium battery.

Key features

  • Solid-state switching, no mechanical relay wear, useful in cycling applications.
  • BMS controlled, driven directly by Victron BMS output signals, so the BMS can disconnect loads under fault or low-voltage conditions.
  • Weight, 32.5 g, compact enough for space-constrained enclosures.
  • Low on-state resistance, less heat generation and power loss than a conventional relay.
  • Compatibility, works with the Victron BMS product range for load disconnection in lithium battery systems.

How it works

The SolidSwitch 104 sits between a Victron BMS and the DC load circuit. When the BMS detects an out-of-range condition, such as over-voltage, under-voltage or over-temperature, it signals the SolidSwitch 104 to open the load circuit and protect the battery. It has no moving parts, so there is no contact arcing or bounce, which matters where the BMS switches loads often or where vibration is present. The module wires directly into the load output path and is controlled by the BMS load disconnect signal line.

Applications

  • Load disconnection in Victron BMS-managed lithium battery systems.
  • Off-grid and mobile power systems needing solid-state load switching.
  • Marine and vehicle installations where vibration makes mechanical relays unreliable.
  • Battery protection circuits in custom enclosures and professional battery builds.

What's in the box

  • 1 x Victron Energy SolidSwitch 104 module

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or an experienced battery systems integrator familiar with Victron BMS wiring. It is intended for use inside a correctly designed BMS load disconnect circuit and should stay within its rated parameters. Lithium battery systems hold significant energy, so installation must follow applicable wiring regulations. Check the Victron BMS documentation for correct wiring of the load disconnect signal and load output connections.
