Product overview

The 6mm² conductor is the usual cross-section for residential and light commercial PV string wiring across the UK and EU. A larger conductor cuts resistive losses over the run, which matters most where panels are wired in series strings at higher open-circuit voltages. At 1 metre, this cable suits bridging small gaps between panels, wiring into junction boxes, or extending an existing run without adding unnecessary resistance.

PV-ST01 connectors are a widely used MC4-compatible standard, so this cable can be inserted straight into an existing PV circuit with no extra crimping or adapters. Victron offers other cable lengths and conductor sizes for longer runs.

Installation notes

Mate and de-mate MC4 connectors only with the correct MC4 disconnect tool, to avoid damaging the connector housing. PV string wiring can carry high DC voltages, so all installation and wiring work should be done by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer, in line with BS 7671 and the relevant IET wiring regulations. Never connect or disconnect MC4 connectors under load.
