This is the dedicated temperature sensor for the Victron BlueSolar PWM-Pro charge controller. It lets the controller apply temperature-compensated charging, adjusting charge voltage automatically to suit the battery's actual temperature rather than a fixed setpoint.

Why temperature compensation matters

A battery charged at a fixed voltage all year round gets overcharged in summer heat and undercharged in cold winter conditions, and both shorten its life. The BlueSolar PWM-Pro supports temperature compensation, but only once this sensor is fitted and connected. It mounts on or near the battery and feeds live temperature readings back to the controller, which shifts the charge voltage up or down from the nominal setpoint accordingly.

Installation notes

Attach the sensor directly to the battery casing for the most accurate reading, and make sure the connector is fully seated in the correct port before commissioning. It is only compatible with the BlueSolar PWM-Pro range, not other Victron controller models. Fitting as part of a wider 12V or 24V DC system should be done by a qualified electrician or competent person.
