Why non-isolated topology

The Orion IP67 range uses a non-isolated buck converter, which avoids the losses that come with transformer isolation and keeps efficiency high with less heat to manage. That suits systems where the two battery banks share a common negative, such as dual-battery vehicle setups or a 24V-to-12V auxiliary supply on a boat or motorhome. Because it's non-isolated, it must not be used where galvanic isolation between input and output is required.

Installation notes
