Product Description
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85-MC4 VE.Can is a high-current solar charge controller built for off-grid, marine and large residential installations. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 150V and delivers up to 85A of charge current, with integrated MC4 connectors for direct panel string connection and a VE.Can bus for system-level communication.

Why VE.Can matters
This variant connects directly to the VE.Can network used across Victron system architecture, so it appears as a managed device within Venus OS on a Cerbo GX or CCGX. That gives coordinated charging, Distributed Voltage and Current Control support, and data logging through the VRM portal. Where multiple charge controllers or a BMS are managing charge parameters, VE.Can is the right choice over Bluetooth-only versions.
The load output and relay are both programmable through VictronConnect or a GX device, supporting functions such as street lighting control and battery protection.

Installation notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited solar installer. PV input must never exceed 150V open-circuit, including under cold-temperature conditions. Battery cabling must be rated for the full 85A charge current, and VE.Can wiring needs correct termination at both ends of the bus with RJ45 terminators.
