Why the voltage rating matters

DC arc energy is higher than in equivalent AC circuits, so a fuse's voltage rating has to cover the maximum open-circuit voltage of the battery bank it protects. This fuse's 80V DC rating suits 12V, 24V and 48V lithium or lead-acid systems. Always check the fuseholder itself is rated for the same voltage and current before fitting.

Applications

Used for overcurrent protection on battery cables, inverter feeds and DC distribution boards in off-grid, marine, motorhome and caravan installations. The pack of five also serves as replacement stock for existing Victron MEGA fuseholder setups, useful for installers carrying spares between jobs.

Installation notes

Fit only in a fuseholder rated for the circuit's voltage and current, with terminations correctly torqued. Isolate the battery before replacing a fuse. Do not fit a higher-rated fuse to work around repeated blowing without first finding the cause of the fault.
