The Victron LiFePO4 battery 12.8V 200Ah NG is a lithium iron phosphate unit from Victron's New Generation series, built for 12V off-grid, marine and mobile power systems. It delivers 2.56kWh of usable capacity in a single case, with weight and cycle life suited to demanding storage applications.

Product overview
LiFePO4 cells do not undergo thermal runaway under normal fault conditions, unlike NMC or NCA lithium chemistries, which makes them appropriate for enclosed spaces such as boat bilges, vehicle cabinets and off-grid battery rooms. The flat discharge curve keeps voltage near-constant across most of the state of charge, which benefits inverters and DC loads sensitive to voltage drop.
The NG designation marks Victron's updated generation of standalone lithium batteries. The integrated BMS handles cell-level protection without a separate external BMS for basic operation, though pairing with Victron system monitoring via a compatible interface or GX device is recommended for full visibility. At 200Ah and 12.8V nominal, it works as a building block for 12V systems needing substantial storage, and can be paralleled for higher capacity.
Applications
Off-grid solar storage in cabins and remote installations, marine house battery banks, motorhome and campervan leisure systems, mobile vehicle power, and backup power for DC systems and small inverters.
Installation notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or an experienced system integrator familiar with lithium battery systems. LiFePO4 batteries need a lithium-compatible charger profile; do not use AGM, gel or standard lead-acid profiles. Confirm the charge source is configured for 12.8V LiFePO4 chemistry before connecting. Secure the battery against movement in marine and vehicle installations and ensure adequate ventilation. Where the battery forms part of a larger system, coordinate BMS communication with the system controller for correct charge and load disconnect.
