Product overview

The ET340 connects to a Victron GX device over RS-485 using the Victron USB to RS-485 interface cable, sold separately. Once wired in, the GX device pulls energy data from the meter for display in the VRM portal and on local GX screens, giving a record of grid use, solar yield and load behaviour over time.

Its 65A per phase rating covers most three-phase residential and light commercial jobs without needing external current transformers. Higher-current sites will need CTs and a meter sized to match. As a grid meter it enables ESS functionality on compatible Victron systems responding to grid import and export, which is required for a three-phase ESS installation.

Installation notes

Fitting must be carried out by a qualified electrician. This is a direct-connect meter rated to 65A per phase; higher currents need appropriately rated CTs. A USB to RS-485 interface cable is required to link to a GX device and is not included. Keep GX firmware updated for full compatibility, and for grid-connected ESS systems in the UK, follow G98 or G99 requirements as applicable.
