How it works

The transformer induces a proportional secondary current from the magnetic field around the conductor passing through its core. The MultiPlus-II or a connected GX device uses this signal to calculate real-time current and power, without any direct electrical connection to the circuit being measured. That keeps isolation intact and simplifies installation.

Applications

Used for AC current monitoring in MultiPlus-II ESS installations, grid import/export measurement in solar-plus-storage systems, load sensing for self-consumption or peak-shaving control, and generator current monitoring in off-grid setups. The 20 metre cable suits systems where the measurement point is some distance from the inverter.

Installation notes

Fit by a qualified electrician only, for use with the Victron MultiPlus-II and compatible GX devices. The transformer must go around a single AC conductor, not a twin or multicore cable, for correct readings. In grid-connected systems, installation must meet G98 or G99 requirements as applicable, and the receiving device's input specification should be checked before the wire-end connection is terminated.
