Product Description

The Cerbo GX MK3 is Victron Energy's central communication and monitoring hub for solar, battery and inverter systems. It links compatible Victron devices across an installation, logging data locally and syncing to the VRM portal for remote monitoring and control. A touchscreen display is sold separately.

Key features

  • System hub, aggregates data from inverters, chargers, batteries and solar charge controllers across Victron GX-compatible systems.
  • VRM connectivity, connects via Ethernet or Wi-Fi to the Victron Remote Management portal for browser or app-based monitoring.
  • Display support, HDMI output and USB touchscreen input for the optional GX Touch 50 or GX Touch 70.
  • Ports, two VE.Direct ports, one VE.Bus port, one VE.Can port, and a USB hub.
  • DVCC support, coordinates charging across multi-device systems.
  • Integrated MK3-USB interface, removes the need for a separate MK3-USB adapter when connecting to VE.Bus devices such as MultiPlus and Quattro.

Product overview

The Cerbo GX MK3 replaces the original Cerbo GX by integrating the MK3-USB interface directly into the unit, simplifying wiring and reducing components in the control cabinet. Data is logged locally and synchronised to VRM when a connection is available; without internet, logging continues locally until connectivity returns. It also supports MQTT and Modbus TCP for integration with third-party energy management systems.

There is no built-in display. A GX Touch 50 or GX Touch 70 panel connects via HDMI and USB and can be mounted separately from the Cerbo GX MK3 itself, so display placement is independent of where the unit is fitted.

Applications

Used in off-grid residential and commercial systems with MultiPlus or Quattro inverter/chargers and MPPT charge controllers. Also suited to marine and narrowboat installations, hybrid grid-tied systems needing generator auto-start, vehicle conversions with multiple Victron components, and commercial storage systems requiring Modbus TCP or MQTT integration.

Installation notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced Victron installer familiar with VE.Bus, VE.Direct and VE.Can wiring. Correct network setup is needed for VRM portal connectivity. Grid-connected inverter/charger installations must comply with G98 or G99 requirements as applicable. The unit itself operates at low voltage but is typically installed alongside high-voltage DC and AC equipment.
