Product Description

The Victron Energy Busbar 250A 4P is a four-pole copper busbar rated at 250A, built for DC distribution systems, battery banks and off-grid or marine electrical installations. It gives a central, secure connection point for multiple circuits and is supplied with a protective cover to guard against accidental contact.

Key features

  • Current rating, 250A continuous, for high-current DC distribution.
  • Poles, four-pole configuration, allowing up to four separate circuit connections from one busbar.
  • Cover, protective cover included, reducing risk of accidental short circuits or contact with live terminals.
  • Mounting, compact construction suitable for panel mounting in battery enclosures, distribution boards and switchgear cabinets.
  • Compatibility, works alongside Victron Energy battery main switches, fuse holders and inverter/charger installations.
  • Weight, 0.395 kg.

Product overview

A busbar gives a single rated connection point instead of running individual cables directly between each device and the battery. This simplifies wiring, cuts down the number of direct battery connections, and makes fault-finding easier. The 250A rating covers the combined load of all connected circuits up to that limit, and the four-pole design suits systems where several loads or sub-circuits need feeding from a common positive or negative rail. The cover matters in enclosed battery compartments or where non-technical people might access the busbar.

This is a standard Victron Energy component that fits naturally into Victron system builds alongside battery main switches, fuse holders and inverter or charger wiring. It also works in non-Victron installations wherever a rated DC distribution point is needed.

Applications

  • DC distribution in off-grid solar systems with multiple load circuits.
  • Battery bank positive or negative rail distribution in 12V, 24V or 48V systems.
  • Marine and motorhome electrical installations needing a central distribution point.
  • Victron MultiPlus or Quattro inverter/charger system wiring.
  • Commercial and industrial battery storage systems needing organised, rated DC connections.

  • 1 x Protective cover

Installation notes

Fit this busbar with a qualified electrician familiar with DC systems. Make sure all connected cables are rated correctly for their individual circuit loads, and that the combined load stays within the 250A busbar rating. Torque all terminal connections to the manufacturer's specification to avoid resistance heating at joints, and always disconnect the battery before making or altering busbar connections. Work on grid-connected systems must comply with relevant UK wiring regulations and be carried out by a suitably qualified installer.
