The Victron Blue Smart IP65 12/15 is a single-output 15A battery charger for 12V lead-acid and lithium batteries. It connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app, so installers and owners can check charge status and adjust settings without a display on the unit itself. The IP65 rating means it can be fitted where dust or water spray is a factor.

Product overview

Rather than needing a separate monitor, the Blue Smart IP65 range puts Bluetooth inside the charger itself. VictronConnect shows charge current, voltage, stage and history in real time, and lets you change the charge preset to match whatever battery is actually installed. That matters when retrofitting to a bank whose chemistry or capacity differs from the default.

The IP65 enclosure suits marine, vehicle, workshop and outdoor cabinet fitting, where an indoor-only charger wouldn't cope. Running from 230V AC and delivering up to 15A DC, it's sized for medium-capacity 12V banks. The adaptive algorithm reads the battery's response during charging and adjusts absorption time, avoiding both undercharging and overcharging.

A storage mode lowers float voltage for long-term storage, reducing battery degradation over time. Note that the CEE 7/17 plug needs an adaptor for standard UK three-pin sockets, something worth planning for before installation.
