The Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/15(1) is a single-output 15A battery charger for 12V lead-acid and lithium batteries. It plugs straight into a UK BS 1363 socket and is controlled through the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth, with no extra dongle needed. It suits workshop, vehicle, marine and off-grid battery maintenance.

Product overview

Rather than following a fixed time-based cycle, the charger reads the actual condition of the battery and applies the appropriate stage. The equalisation stage, for flooded lead-acid batteries, helps recover stratified or sulphated cells when applied periodically.

VictronConnect lets an installer select the correct algorithm for the battery chemistry, set absorption time, enable or disable equalisation and watch the charge state update live from a phone or tablet. That makes commissioning and fault-finding on site much quicker.

IP22 makes it suitable for engine bays, bilge areas, garages and similar sheltered spaces where some moisture is possible. It should not be mounted where it will be rained on directly or submerged. This is the single-output version, charging one battery bank at a time.

Installation notes

The charger connects to a standard 230V UK mains socket and does not need hardwired installation. Connect the DC output leads with correct polarity and make sure battery terminals are clean and secure before use. Choose the right charge algorithm for your battery chemistry in VictronConnect before first use. For fixed vehicle, marine or off-grid installations, wiring to battery busbars or distribution should be done by a competent electrician or qualified marine engineer. Do not install where exposed to direct rainfall or standing water.
