Product overview

Plug the modem into a Cerbo GX, Venus GX or other GX device running Venus OS and it provides a cellular uplink for continuous VRM logging: energy production, consumption, battery state of charge and alarms, viewable from anywhere with internet access. A low-cost IoT or M2M SIM is normally enough for typical VRM data volumes.

Applications

Used on off-grid solar systems without broadband, marine and narrowboat installations, motorhomes and emergency vehicles, agricultural sites, and temporary construction power setups where VRM oversight is needed but no wired network exists.

Installation notes

Confirm the GX device is running a Venus OS version that supports the LTE modem, and check cellular signal at the site before specifying it. A nano-SIM with an active data plan must be sourced separately, and APN settings entered to match the provider. The wider power system should be installed and commissioned by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer.
