Product Description
The Victron Inverter 48/375 is a 375VA pure sine wave inverter that runs from a 48V DC battery bank and delivers 230V AC through a SCHUKO socket. It suits off-grid installers, marine and vehicle conversions, and anyone needing a small, dependable AC supply from a 48V system. A VE.Direct port ties it into Victron's monitoring and control network.
Key features
- Output, 375VA continuous from a 48V DC input
- Waveform, pure sine wave at 230V AC, suited to sensitive electronics and standard appliances
- Socket, SCHUKO output built into the unit
- Monitoring, VE.Direct port for connection to Victron Color Control GX and Venus GX devices
- Protection, low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature cutoff and overload protection
- Weight, 3.25 kg
Product overview
Sitting at the lower end of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, the 48/375 is meant for modest AC loads drawn from a 48V bank, things like a laptop, router or a small lighting circuit. Pure sine wave output means it won't upset motor-driven or variable-speed equipment the way a modified sine wave inverter can.
The VE.Direct connection lets the unit report AC output, battery state and faults to a GX device, and on to the VRM portal if the system is set up for remote monitoring. It works well as one AC outlet within a larger Victron off-grid or backup setup rather than as a standalone box.
The SCHUKO socket gives a ready-made single outlet without extra wiring to a distribution board. Where more complex wiring is needed, a qualified electrician can hardwire the output or use a suitable adaptor.
Applications
Off-grid cabins, narrowboats and marine systems, van and motorhome conversions with 48V electrics, and backup power for low-draw equipment such as routers or lighting all suit this inverter. It also fits as a dedicated low-power AC outlet within a wider Victron system alongside a GX monitoring device.
Installation notes
The unit must be wired to a 48V DC battery bank, with DC cabling and fusing sized correctly for the current draw. Installation should be handled by a qualified electrician or experienced DC installer. The SCHUKO output is not intended for direct connection to fixed wiring without proper isolation and protection. A separate interface cable is needed for VE.Direct communication and is not included. The inverter is not grid-connected and does not need G98 or G99 compliance, but any wider system integration should follow BS 7671.
