Product Description

The VE.Direct TX digital output cable connects to the TX pin of a VE.Direct port on compatible Victron devices, turning it into a programmable digital output. Installers use it to trigger external loads, relays or lighting controllers directly from a Victron MPPT solar charger or other VE.Direct-equipped device.

Key features of the victron ve direct cable

  • Interface, accesses the TX pin of the VE.Direct port
  • Compatibility, works with Victron MPPT solar chargers and other devices exposing a configurable TX pin via VE.Direct
  • Function, TX pin can be set up for load output control or streetlight dimming pulses, depending on the connected device's firmware
  • Weight, 0.04 kg, compact enough for tight enclosures
  • SKU, ASS030550500
  • GTIN, 8719076019855

Product overview

The VE.Direct port on Victron MPPT chargers and similar devices carries a TX pin that can be configured in software to output a digital signal. Without this cable that pin cannot be wired externally. It provides a terminated, ready-to-connect lead from the TX pin so it can be run to a relay, LED driver or other low-voltage control circuit.

Configuration of the TX pin happens through the VictronConnect app or the MPPT firmware settings. Typical uses include a 0 to 100% PWM dimming signal for streetlight control, or a simple on/off output tied to the charger's load output state. The cable itself is passive. Behaviour depends entirely on how the TX pin has been configured on the source device.

Applications

  • Streetlight dimming control via PWM signal from a Victron MPPT charger
  • Triggering an external relay from the MPPT load output state
  • Integrating Victron MPPT chargers with third-party lighting controllers or load management devices
  • Off-grid systems needing automated load switching without a separate controller

What's in the box

  • 1 x VE.Direct TX digital output cable (ASS030550500)

Installation notes

Connect to the VE.Direct port of a compatible Victron device. Set the TX pin function correctly in VictronConnect or the device settings before wiring any external load or relay. The output signal is low voltage, but wiring into a live off-grid or solar system should be done by a qualified installer. Do not exceed the signal voltage or current ratings specified for the TX pin of the connected device.
