The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/85-Tr VE.Can is a solar charge controller built for large off-grid, marine and commercial systems. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 250V and delivers up to 85A of charge current, so it suits substantial battery banks that need precise, efficient charging. Built-in Bluetooth and a VE.Can port bring it fully into a Victron system network.

Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/85-Tr VE.Can key features

Applications

Off-grid cabins and residential systems running 48V battery banks with high panel counts. Marine and narrowboat installations that need CAN-bus integration with a chart plotter or GX monitoring device. Motorhome and commercial vehicle builds where one high-current controller simplifies the wiring rather than paralleling several smaller units. Connectivity and control

The VE.Can port lets the controller talk directly to a GX device over CAN-bus, feeding real-time data to VRM and coordinating with other Victron components on the same network. The built-in Bluetooth handles day-to-day commissioning: charge voltages, battery type, absorption time and load output can all be set from a phone, with live power flow and yield history available afterwards without a GX device on site. A programmable relay and load output are included for system automation.
