The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/100-Tr VE.Can is a solar charge controller built for large off-grid, marine and commercial systems. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 250V and delivers up to 100A of charge current, with built-in VE.Can and Bluetooth connectivity for integration into Victron's monitoring network.
A 250V open-circuit rating means longer panel strings can run in series before combiners are needed, cutting cabling and simplifying larger arrays. The VE.Can interface sets this unit apart from VE.Direct-only models: it links straight into a Cerbo GX or Venus GX for remote monitoring and logging through the VRM portal, and several VE.Can devices can share the same bus in installations running multiple controllers side by side.
Configuration runs through the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth, covering battery type, absorption and float voltages, temperature compensation and load output behaviour, with no extra interface cable needed. For systems with a GX device already installed, the VE.Can link keeps data flowing without a phone needing to stay nearby.
Fits large off-grid systems with 48V battery banks, marine and yacht installations networked through VE.Can, commercial and agricultural off-grid sites, motorhome conversions built around Victron GX monitoring, and multi-controller installations synchronised over VE.Can to a central GX device.

Note: connecting more PV power than rated causes the controller to limit input power. PV voltage must exceed battery voltage plus 5V to start, and battery voltage plus 1V thereafter. A PV array with a higher short-circuit current than specified may damage the controller.
