Product Description

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 24/800 takes 24V DC from a battery bank and produces 800VA of 230V AC at 50Hz as a pure sine wave. It suits off-grid, marine and vehicle systems that need clean AC power without the waveform issues that come with modified sine inverters.

Key features

  • Output, 800VA continuous from a 24V DC input, pure sine wave, 230V AC at 50Hz.
  • Monitoring, VE.Direct port for connection to Victron GX devices and compatible MPPT charge controllers.
  • UK ready, fitted with a UK BS 1363 socket, no adapter needed.
  • Weight, 5.8 kg, compact enough for tight installation spaces.
  • Protection, shuts down on low battery voltage, over-temperature, overload and short circuit.
  • PowerSave mode, pulses the output to detect a load, cutting idle power draw when little or nothing is connected.

Why pure sine wave matters

Variable-speed motors, medical devices, audio gear and modern switch-mode power supplies can run poorly or fail on a modified sine wave. The Phoenix 24/800 avoids that by outputting a genuine sine waveform, so these loads behave as they would on mains power.

Remote monitoring

The VE.Direct port lets the inverter talk to Victron's GX devices, and to the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth when paired with a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle. That gives visibility of AC output, battery state and any alarms without standing next to the unit.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins and remote buildings on a 24V battery bank
  • Marine vessels with a 24V DC electrical system needing 230V AC
  • Motorhomes, campervans and commercial vehicles with 24V auxiliaries
  • Backup power for routers, NAS devices or medical equipment
  • Telecoms and industrial enclosures needing remote monitoring via VE.Direct

Installation notes

This inverter connects to a 24V DC battery system only. The battery bank and DC cabling must be rated for its peak current draw, with fusing fitted close to the battery. DC connections should be made by a competent installer. The 230V AC output is not for grid connection.
