The Ledison T8 LED Tube is a 90cm (909mm) tube giving 1440 lumens from 12W, built as a direct replacement for 30W fluorescent tubes. It uses LED chips from Nichia, Honglitronic and CREE, with a colour rendering index above 80, and sits in an anodised aluminium housing that carries heat away from the chips to help the tube keep its output over a long service life.

It is available in 3000K warm white, 4000K natural white or 5500K cool white. The tube is not dimmable and carries TUV, RoHS, CE and UL certification. Ledison states 60-70% energy saving over a conventional fluorescent tube and a lifetime 4-5 times longer, with 80% of original luminosity retained after 50,000 hours of operation and 70% retained after 35,000 hours.

Installation

This is a direct replacement tube: remove the old fluorescent starter and fit the LED starter supplied with the tube, then install the tube and switch on. Fittings with an electronic ballast need the ballast removed or bypassed so the tube connects directly to the mains. Because the tube takes a single-ended power connection, a double-ended fitting may need a quick rewire first. Every tube is supplied with installation instructions and a warranty certificate, and the tube complies with EU and British Standards for protection against electric shock.

Applications

Used to retrofit existing T8 fluorescent tube fittings without additional wiring in most single-ended installations, giving quality light without flicker. All tubes ship with a frosted cover for even light spread; clear covers are available on request.
