Product Description

The Victron GX LTE 4G-G is a cellular modem that links Victron GX devices to the VRM portal over 4G/LTE, 3G or 2G networks. It suits sites without a wired internet connection, including marine, mobile and remote off-grid installations. The modem takes a user-supplied SIM card and connects to a GX device such as a Cerbo GX or Venus GX over USB.

Key features

  • Network support, LTE Cat-1, HSPA+ (3G), EDGE and GPRS (2G) for coverage across UK and EU networks.
  • Supply voltage, 8 to 70 VDC, so it runs directly from 12V, 24V or 48V systems.
  • Power draw, 2.5W during active data transfer, under 1.0W idle, plus 0.4W if GPS is enabled.
  • GNSS, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO and QZSS for location reporting on VRM.
  • Connections, fixed 1.0m USB-A cable to the GX device, with SMA Female ports for LTE and GPS antennas.
  • Environmental rating, IP20, rated for -40°C to +50°C operation.

Product overview

No factory SIM is included, so you choose your own network operator and data plan, useful where coverage varies between countries or providers. The wide input voltage range lets the modem run straight off a 12V, 24V or 48V bus; an inline fuse and power cable are supplied.

Where the built-in antenna isn't enough, an optional outdoor 4G antenna (GSM900100400) and optional GPS antenna (GSM900200100) connect via the SMA Female ports. The GNSS function lets VRM show the installation's location, helpful for vehicles, vessels and temporary off-grid sites.

LTE Cat-1 gives download speeds up to 10 Mbps and upload up to 5 Mbps, enough for VRM telemetry. The modem drops back to 3G or 2G automatically when LTE coverage isn't available.

Certifications

Certified to EN-IEC 60335-1, EN-IEC 60335-2-29, IEC 62368-1 and ECE R10-5.
