Product Description

The Victron EV Charging Station NS is a single-phase AC EV charger built for residential and light commercial use. It connects into Victron's GX ecosystem, so charging current can be adjusted automatically to prioritise solar self-consumption or stay within grid import limits.

Victron EV charging station NS key features

  • GX integration, compatible with Victron GX devices for dynamic power control and solar integration.
  • Charging standard, Mode 3 charging via a Type 2 (IEC 62196) connector.
  • Adjustable current, output current adjusts to match available solar generation or grid capacity.
  • Housing, wall-mounted, blue enclosure suited to indoor and sheltered outdoor sites.
  • Communication, Modbus TCP, for integration with the VRM portal and Venus OS.
  • Weight, 2.5 kg.

Product overview

The GX control layer modulates the charger's output in real time based on excess PV production, battery state of charge, or grid import limits. That's useful in any system where the priority is using solar power on site rather than exporting it.

NS denotes the non-smart version of Victron's EV charger range. There's no built-in display, but full network communication runs over Modbus TCP. Configuration and monitoring happen through a connected GX device or the VRM portal instead of a local touchscreen, which suits chargers mounted in a utility area with remote monitoring.

This blue-housed unit shares its electrical specification with the white variant. It is a wall-mounted fixture intended for fixed installation by a qualified electrician.

Applications

  • Solar self-consumption EV charging, directing surplus PV generation to the vehicle rather than exporting it.
  • Residential installations integrated with a Victron Multiplus or Quattro inverter/charger system.
  • Off-grid and hybrid systems that need dynamic charge current adjustment based on battery or generator capacity.
  • Light commercial premises with a Victron GX device already managing energy flow.
  • Installations where remote monitoring via the VRM portal is preferred over a local display.

Installation notes

This unit must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and any applicable local building regulations. A dedicated circuit with appropriate overcurrent and RCD protection is required. Integration with a Victron GX device needs an Ethernet connection at the installation point. If the installation connects to the public grid, confirm compliance with your Distribution Network Operator's requirements before commissioning.
