Product Description

The GAVE Electro Y-Series 250A motorised changeover switch handles automatic and remote-controlled transfer between two AC supply sources. It suits grid and generator switching in off-grid and hybrid solar power systems, standby power installations, and anywhere fast, remote source transfer is needed without someone flicking a switch by hand.

Key features of this automatic transfer switch

  • Rating, 250A motorised changeover switch
  • Control, Y-Series design for remote and automatic operation
  • Transfer type, supports transfer supply/generator with or without break
  • Configurations, main switch, multiple source switch, and bypass configurations supported
  • Build, electromechanical reliability for industrial and commercial applications
  • Mounting, DIN rail compatible

Product overview

The Y-Series is built for standby power systems where outages need to be managed without a person present. The motorised mechanism lets the switch be actuated remotely by a control signal, so there's no manual operation required when a supply fails.

In off-grid and hybrid solar installations, this switch transfers the load automatically between inverter AC output and a generator or grid supply once battery state of charge drops below a set threshold, then switches back when the primary source returns.

Applications

  • Grid to generator automatic transfer in off-grid solar systems
  • Standby power source transfer for industrial and commercial premises
  • Hybrid solar system load transfer and backup switching

Installation and safety notes

This switch must be installed by a qualified electrician. AC switching equipment must be correctly rated for the connected load and supply, and wiring must comply with IET Wiring Regulations BS7671.
