Product Description
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/100-MC4 VE.Can is a solar charge controller built for large off-grid, marine and commercial systems. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 250V and delivers up to 100A of charge current, with MC4 connectors built into the unit and a VE.Can interface for network integration.

Applications
This controller suits large off-grid solar systems on 24V or 48V battery banks that need high charge current. It also works in marine and narrowboat installations where MC4 connection and network integration matter, and in commercial or agricultural off-grid sites using Victron GX monitoring and VRM remote management. Multiple SmartSolar units can be networked together via VE.Can for coordinated charging across a larger system, and it can form part of a hybrid setup with solar, generator and inverter-charger inputs managed through a Victron GX device.

If more PV power is connected, the controller will limit input power. PV voltage must exceed Vbat + 5 V to start, and the minimum PV voltage thereafter is Vbat + 1 V. A PV array with a higher short-circuit current may damage the controller.
