Product overview

The controller tracks the maximum power point of the connected array in real time, which matters when panel temperature or shading shifts the power curve. Because the input can take up to 100V, installers have more flexibility in panel selection without needing a separate combiner or step-down. The 12V or 24V battery bank is detected automatically on first connection, which simplifies commissioning. Charge parameters can be adjusted through the VE.Direct port using VictronConnect software, so settings can be tuned to specific battery types.

A built-in load output allows direct connection of DC loads up to the controller's rated current, with street lighting and timer modes available. This can remove the need for a separate load controller in simpler off-grid setups. Bluetooth monitoring is available with the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, and the VE.Direct port also supports wired monitoring and configuration.

Installation notes

Fitting should be done by someone experienced with 12V or 24V DC solar systems. The PV array's open-circuit voltage must not exceed 100V under any condition, including cold weather, which can push Voc above the STC-rated figure. Correct fusing between battery and controller is required. For lithium batteries, check that the BMS is compatible with the charge profile settings on this controller. VictronConnect software, accessed via the VE.Direct interface or the optional Bluetooth dongle, is recommended for commissioning.
