Product overview
MIDI fuses are a compact bolt-down format used widely in DC battery protection circuits. At 125A this fuse suits main DC cable protection in 12V and 24V systems, covering battery-to-inverter runs, busbar feeds and charge controller output wiring. The 32V rating spans both 12V and 24V nominal battery banks.
Matching the fuse rating to the cable cross-section matters. A 125A fuse is typically paired with 35mm² to 50mm² DC cable, depending on cable length and installation conditions. This MIDI fuse is designed to work with Victron MIDI fuseholders, keeping the contact interface consistent and avoiding the resistance issues that mismatched fuse and holder combinations can cause.
Buying in packs of five suits installers running several systems or keeping service stock on hand. Fuses are a consumable, and having spares on site avoids delays if one operates during commissioning or a fault.
Applications
- Overcurrent protection on main DC battery cables in 12V and 24V off-grid solar systems.
- Fusing battery-to-inverter connections in mobile, marine and vehicle installations.
- Protecting DC distribution feeds from battery banks to busbars or combiners.
- Service and replacement stock for installers maintaining existing Victron-based systems.
What's in the box
- 5 x Victron MIDI fuse, 125A/32V
Installation notes
Fit this fuse in a compatible MIDI fuseholder rated for the circuit's current and voltage. DC fusing in battery systems should sit as close to the positive battery terminal as practicable to protect the full cable run. Work on DC wiring and fusing should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with DC system design. Never substitute a higher-rated fuse than the cable can carry.
