Product overview

The GlobalLink 530 suits installations where a GX device or local network isn't practical. It plugs directly into VE.Direct ports on supported Victron devices and sends data over cellular to the VRM Online Portal, covering battery banks, solar charge controllers or inverters in caravans, boats, remote cabins and other off-grid locations.

The included global SIM is pre-configured and managed by Victron. There's no contract to arrange and no APN to set up. Data is sent at regular intervals and stored on the VRM portal, so installers and owners can check system performance history, state of charge trends and fault events remotely.

Because it connects at the VE.Direct level rather than through a GX device, the GlobalLink 530 is a lower-cost monitoring option for smaller systems. It doesn't cover full GX functionality like DVCC, generator control or ESS, but for read-only remote monitoring it handles the common cases.

Installation notes

The GlobalLink 530 connects via VE.Direct cable to supported Victron devices. Check that the connected equipment supports VE.Direct data output before buying. It needs a power supply within its specified input voltage range, and while the unit itself involves no high-voltage wiring, the wider solar or battery system it monitors should be installed by a qualified electrician or accredited installer, meeting G98 or G99 requirements where applicable.
