This current transformer measures AC current for the Victron MultiPlus-II inverter/charger, scaling a 100A primary current down to a 50mA secondary signal. It connects using a 1-metre wire-end lead, suitable for residential and light commercial installations.

How it works

The transformer induces a secondary current proportional to the primary conductor passing through its core. At 100A:50mA, this scales the measured current to a level the MultiPlus-II can read directly, letting it manage grid or load current through functions such as PowerControl and PowerAssist to avoid overloading a grid connection or generator.

The wire-end termination needs no additional connector at the transformer, and the 1-metre lead gives enough length to route the signal cable from the clamped conductor back to the MultiPlus-II terminals.

Applications

Used for AC current monitoring on MultiPlus-II installations running PowerControl or PowerAssist, for grid input sensing in solar-plus-storage systems, for generator monitoring in off-grid and backup setups, and for load tracking via a GX device in light commercial installations.

Installation notes

Fitting must be carried out by a qualified electrician, around the correct AC conductor and in line with Victron's wiring guidance for the MultiPlus-II. The conductor must not exceed the rated 100A continuous. Do not fit to any other inverter/charger model without confirming compatibility. UK AC wiring work must comply with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) and, where applicable, G98 or G99 requirements.
