Product Description

The Victron Inverter 48/375 is a compact DC to AC inverter for 48V battery systems, delivering 375VA of continuous output at 230V AC. It suits off-grid installers, marine and vehicle builds, and small standalone power systems that need a communicating inverter without the bulk of a full inverter-charger.

Key features of the victron inverter 48/375

  • Output, 375VA continuous at 230V AC from a 48V DC input.
  • Waveform, pure sine wave, suited to sensitive electronics and motor loads.
  • Monitoring, VE.Direct port for VictronConnect app or integration with Victron GX devices.
  • Connector, IEC AC output socket for standardised wiring.
  • Weight, 3.25 kg.
  • Protection, low battery voltage shutdown, overload and over-temperature cutoff.

Product overview

The 48/375 sits at the lower end of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, a practical fit for small 48V loads such as lighting circuits, low-power appliances or an auxiliary outlet within a larger system. Its pure sine wave output copes with switch-mode power supplies and inductive loads that a modified sine wave unit would struggle with.

The VE.Direct port lets the inverter report to the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth, using a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, or feed into a Victron GX-based system for centralised monitoring. That makes it a component within a wider Victron setup rather than an isolated unmonitored box.

The IEC output is a single socket, so multiple AC outlets downstream will need a distribution board. Running from a 48V bank keeps DC current lower for a given power draw than an equivalent 12V or 24V system, which eases cable sizing.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins, sheds and outbuildings with a 48V battery bank.
  • Marine and narrowboat auxiliary AC supply from a 48V house bank.
  • Campervan and vehicle builds using 48V lithium or AGM batteries.
  • Auxiliary AC outlet within a larger Victron off-grid or hybrid system.
  • Telecoms or remote monitoring enclosures needing a small 230V AC supply.

Installation notes

This inverter runs from a 48V DC battery system and outputs 230V AC. DC wiring must be correctly sized and fused for the input current at the chosen battery voltage. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person familiar with DC and AC electrical systems. It is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification, but all downstream AC wiring must comply with BS 7671. If integrating with a Victron GX device, plan VE.Direct cable routing before final fitting.
