Product Description

The Victron Inverter 24/500 converts 24V DC battery power into 500VA of continuous 230V AC output, using a pure sine wave suited to sensitive electronics and motors. This UK variant fits a standard British socket, so no adapter is needed once wired in. It works well in off-grid buildings, vehicles, boats and other setups running from a 24V bank.

Victron inverter key features

  • Output, 500VA continuous at 230V AC from a 24V DC input.
  • Waveform, pure sine wave, suitable for electronics, motors and appliances needing clean AC.
  • Communication, VE.Direct port for linking to Victron GX devices, MPPT controllers and monitoring software.
  • Socket, UK output socket, ready for British appliances without an adapter.
  • Weight, 4.1 kg, compact enough for tight installation spaces.
  • Protection, low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature and overload safeguards, with LED status indicators.

Product overview

This sits at the entry point of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. The 500VA rating covers lighter loads: lighting circuits, small power tools, laptop chargers and communications gear. It is not built for heavy draw items like kettles or immersion heaters.

VE.Direct lets the unit talk to a Cerbo GX, Color Control GX or similar device, so remote monitoring, on/off control and data logging through VictronConnect or VRM become straightforward without extra hardware. Being the UK variant, it carries a British AC socket rather than the European type, so it's worth confirming this is the correct version before ordering.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins and remote buildings running a 24V battery and solar setup.
  • Campervans, motorhomes and caravans with a 24V leisure battery bank.
  • Marine vessels needing 230V AC from a 24V DC system.
  • Backup power for routers, communications equipment and low-power electronics.
  • Portable power stations and field service vehicles needing a compact 230V source.

Installation notes

Connect only to a 24V DC battery system, with DC cabling rated for the maximum input current and appropriate fusing between battery and inverter. It is not grid-tied, so G98 or G99 notification does not apply. Fitting should be done by a qualified electrician or competent person, with adequate ventilation to avoid thermal shutdown under sustained load. VE.Direct cable is sold separately if monitoring integration is wanted.
