Product Description
The Victron Inverter 24/3000 230V Smart is a pure sine wave inverter for off-grid and backup power systems. It converts 24V DC from a battery bank into 230V AC at 3000VA continuous output, and it's built for professional installations that need reliable AC power without mains connection. Bluetooth connectivity through the VictronConnect app lets you configure and monitor the unit without extra hardware.
Key features
- Output, 3000VA continuous at 230V AC from a 24V DC input
- Waveform, pure sine wave, suitable for sensitive electronics and motor-driven loads
- Connectivity, built-in Bluetooth for setup and monitoring via VictronConnect on iOS and Android
- Relay, programmable for generator start, alarm or other custom functions
- Integration, PowerControl and PowerAssist available with compatible Victron equipment, and compatible with Victron GX devices for VRM portal monitoring
- Weight, 18.46 kg
Product overview
This unit sits in Victron's inverter-only range, so it does not include a battery charger or transfer switch. It's a dedicated DC to AC converter, which keeps installations simple where charging is handled separately, for example by a solar charge controller or standalone charger. The 3000VA rating suits power tools, appliances and lighting circuits found in off-grid cabins, vehicles and marine installations.

The Smart designation refers to the integrated Bluetooth module. Using VictronConnect, an installer can adjust low battery voltage thresholds, dynamic cutoff curves and relay behaviour directly from a phone or tablet, with no extra interface hardware needed for setup. The inverter can also be linked to a Victron GX device, such as a Cerbo GX, for ongoing remote monitoring through the VRM portal.
At 18.46 kg this is a substantial piece of equipment and should be wall-mounted in a ventilated enclosure or compartment. Victron's toroidal transformer design gives it high surge capacity, useful for starting inductive loads such as pumps and compressors that draw more current at startup than during steady running.
Applications
- Off-grid cabins and rural properties with 24V battery banks
- Marine vessels needing 230V AC from a 24V DC system
- Motorhomes, coaches and large campervans with 24V electrical systems
- Backup power setups where charging is handled by a separate charger or solar controller
- Telecoms and remote monitoring installations needing AC from a battery bank

Installation notes
This inverter runs at high DC currents from a 24V battery bank and should be installed by a qualified electrician or competent person familiar with DC power systems. DC cabling, fusing and battery connections must be rated for the continuous and peak current demands of a 3000VA inverter. It is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification, but any AC distribution from its output must comply with current wiring regulations, BS 7671 in the UK. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit, and for marine installations follow applicable NMEA or RCD standards.
