Product Description

The Victron Inverter 24/250 is a compact DC to AC inverter built for 24V battery systems, giving 250VA of continuous 230V AC output. It suits off-grid installations, vehicles, boats and backup power setups where a small AC load needs a reliable, lightweight inverter. A VE.Direct port lets it talk directly to compatible Victron monitoring devices and displays.

Key features

  • Input/output, 24V DC input, 230V AC output at 250VA continuous.
  • Monitoring, VE.Direct port for connection to Victron GX devices such as the Color Control GX or CCGX, and compatible displays.
  • Output socket, IEC (C13-type) AC output connector for standard European and UK appliance leads.
  • Waveform, pure sine wave output, suited to sensitive electronics and motor-driven loads.
  • Weight, 2.6 kg.
  • Protections, low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature and overload protection.

Product overview

The 24/250 sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, intended for smaller AC loads run from a 24V battery bank: lighting circuits, small appliances, phone and laptop chargers, or instrumentation. The pure sine wave output means it works with a wider range of equipment than a modified sine wave unit, including devices with switch-mode power supplies and inductive loads.

The VE.Direct interface sets this apart from basic inverters. It can be monitored and configured through Victron's GX devices, or via a VE.Direct to USB cable connected to a laptop running VictronConnect. That matters on installations where visibility of the system counts, such as a monitored off-grid cabin or a vessel already running a Victron setup. The IEC output connector is a standard C13-type socket compatible with a wide range of European and UK appliance leads.

At 2.6 kg the unit is light enough to mount in a locker or under a seat. It is not intended for high-load applications, so installers should size it to the actual continuous load and allow headroom for startup surges from motor-driven equipment.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins and outbuildings with a 24V battery system needing a small AC supply.
  • Marine installations on vessels with 24V house banks needing occasional 230V AC output.
  • Motorhomes and campervans converted to a 24V electrical system.
  • Backup power for small AC loads such as routers, lighting or communications equipment.
  • Victron system integrations requiring VE.Direct monitoring of the inverter.

Installation notes

Connect to a 24V DC battery system only, with DC cable sizing and fusing calculated against the continuous current draw at full load. Install in a well-ventilated location away from flammable materials. VE.Direct accessories such as a VE.Direct cable or Bluetooth Smart dongle are sold separately. This inverter is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. Installation should be carried out by a competent electrician or qualified installer familiar with DC power systems and wiring regulations.
