Product overview

Pure sine wave output matters when powering loads sensitive to waveform quality: variable-speed motors, medical equipment, audio gear and modern switch-mode power supplies. A modified sine wave inverter can cause these devices to overheat or malfunction; the 12/800 avoids that. The VE.Direct port lets the inverter connect to Victron GX devices for remote monitoring, and configuration is also possible through VictronConnect with the right VE.Direct adapter.

At 800VA, the unit is suited to moderate loads such as lighting circuits, small appliances and power tools. It is not intended for high-draw loads like inverter air conditioning units or electric water heaters. Correct sizing against expected load and battery capacity matters for reliable operation.

Installation notes

The inverter runs on 12V DC and needs an appropriately rated battery bank with correctly sized DC cabling and fusing. DC wiring for inverters carries high current and should be installed by someone competent with low-voltage DC systems. The IEC AC output is not intended for connection to fixed building wiring without proper isolation and protection. Work forming part of a fixed electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician to BS 7671. This is not a grid-tied device and does not require G98 or G99 notification.
