Product overview

The 12/500 sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. At 500VA it is sized for individual loads such as lighting circuits, small appliances, power tools or communications equipment run from a 12V battery. The pure sine wave output handles inductive motors, variable speed drives and audio equipment that a modified sine wave inverter struggles with.

The VE.Direct port lets installers monitor and configure the unit through VictronConnect, and it integrates into a wider Victron system via a GX device such as a Cerbo GX. That gives a single point of visibility without extra wiring or proprietary adapters. The IEC output socket keeps panel and enclosure builds simple.

Protection is automatic. The inverter shuts down on low battery voltage to prevent deep discharge, and guards against overload and over-temperature conditions without manual intervention.
