Product Description
The Victron Inverter 12/375 is a compact 12V DC to 230V AC pure sine wave inverter with a SCHUKO output socket and a VE.Direct communication port. It suits small off-grid, mobile and backup power setups where a clean 230V AC supply needs to come from a 12V battery bank.
Victron inverter features
- Output power, 375VA continuous from a 12V DC input.
- Waveform, pure sine wave, suitable for sensitive electronics and motor loads.
- Communication, VE.Direct port for monitoring via Victron GX devices, MPPT solar chargers, and the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth with an optional dongle.
- Low power mode, search mode reduces standby consumption when no load is detected.
- Protections, low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature and overload protection built in.
- Weight, 3.2 kg, compact enough for vans, boats and caravans.
Product overview
This unit sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. It converts 12V DC battery power into a 230V AC sine wave, delivered through the integrated SCHUKO socket for direct plug-in use. The VE.Direct port lets it talk to other Victron equipment, so a Cerbo GX or similar device can log and display its status remotely.
At 375VA it handles smaller loads well: lighting circuits, phone and laptop chargers, small power tools, or other low-wattage appliances. It is not meant for kettles, heaters or large compressor fridges. Low power mode cuts standby draw, which matters when parasitic consumption eats into battery autonomy.
Protection behaviour
The protections reset automatically in most cases. Low battery shutdown guards against deep discharge. Over-temperature protection reduces output or shuts the unit down if it runs too hot, which matters in poorly ventilated installations.
Applications
- Campervans, motorhomes and caravans needing 230V AC from a 12V leisure battery.
- Marine installations on small vessels with a 12V DC system.
- Off-grid cabins and sheds with modest AC power needs.
- Backup power for low-wattage appliances during mains outages.
- Mobile work vehicles needing 230V AC for tools or charging equipment.

Installation notes
Connect the unit to a 12V DC battery bank with correctly sized, fused DC cables; undersized cables cause voltage drop and reduce output performance. The SCHUKO output should not be wired into a fixed circuit without proper isolation and compliance work. Installations forming part of a fixed electrical system on a vessel, vehicle or building should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with Victron equipment. The unit is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 compliance, but DC wiring must meet relevant BS or IEC standards.
