Product overview

Part of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, the 12/1200 links directly into Victron's monitoring ecosystem. The VE.Direct port shares real-time data on output power, battery state and fault conditions with a GX device or the VictronConnect app via a VE.Direct to USB or Bluetooth dongle, without extra metering hardware.

At 1200VA it handles moderate loads such as power tools, lighting circuits, small appliances and pumps. Being pure sine wave, it works with a wider range of equipment than modified sine wave units, including inductive loads and gear with active power factor correction. The IEC output is standard across European installations and works with UK IEC-lead equipment. The 12V input suits 12V battery systems typical of campervans, narrowboats, small off-grid cabins and vehicle installations; it is not suitable for 24V or 48V banks without a separate DC-DC converter.

Installation notes

Fit this inverter using a qualified electrician or competent person familiar with DC and AC systems. Connect it to a correctly rated 12V battery bank with suitably sized DC cabling and fusing matched to the inverter's input current. Wire the IEC AC output in line with local regulations. The unit is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. On boats, mount it in a ventilated, dry location away from fuel sources.
