Product overview

The RS series sits above the standard SmartSolar MPPT range on input voltage. A 450V ceiling lets installers put more panels in series per string, cutting the number of strings and the cabling that goes with them. That matters most on larger rooftop or ground-mount arrays, where fewer DC runs mean less installation labour.

The 100A output is delivered across the supported battery voltage range. At 48V that works out to roughly 4.8kW of charge power from one unit. VE.Can lets it sit natively inside a Victron system alongside MultiPlus or Quattro inverter-chargers and a GX monitoring device, and VictronConnect over Bluetooth handles configuration without a separate programming interface.

Installation notes

This controller runs up to 450V DC on the PV input. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited solar installer experienced with high-voltage DC systems, mounted in a ventilated location away from direct weather exposure. VE.Can termination resistors need to be fitted correctly when joining a Victron CAN bus network.
