Product Description

The Victron BlueSolar PWM-Light is a compact PWM solar charge controller rated at 10A, working with either 12V or 24V battery systems through automatic voltage detection. It suits small off-grid setups where a straightforward, low-cost controller is all that's needed.

How it works

PWM controllers connect the solar panel directly to the battery, modulating that connection to hold the correct charge voltage. It's a simple method that works well when panel voltage is closely matched to battery voltage. The BlueSolar PWM-Light is the smallest unit in Victron's PWM range, built without Bluetooth or VictronConnect connectivity to keep things basic and affordable. If remote monitoring or programmable charge profiles matter, Victron's MPPT range is the better fit.

Applications

This controller is aimed at small 12V or 24V off-grid systems: caravans, motorhomes and campervans, leisure boats with modest solar input, garden buildings and sheds running basic lighting or low-power loads, and small remote monitoring or telecoms setups running from a single panel.

Installation notes

Fit this controller with a competent understanding of 12V/24V DC wiring. Connect the battery before the solar panel and disconnect in reverse order. Check the panel's open-circuit voltage stays within the controller's maximum PV input rating. It is not suitable for lithium battery chemistries unless Victron documentation confirms compatibility.
