How it works

PWM charge controllers connect the panel directly to the battery once the battery reaches its set voltage, then switch the connection on and off rapidly to hold the correct charge level. This suits systems where panel voltage is closely matched to the battery bank voltage. For a 48V bank, the array should be configured to a voltage compatible with PWM operation, around 60V open-circuit or less depending on temperature.

The LCD gives a clear read of system status without a separate monitoring device or app, useful on remote or standalone sites. There is no Bluetooth or VE.Direct connectivity on this unit. Installations needing remote monitoring or integration with a Victron GX device should look at the SmartSolar or BlueSolar MPPT range instead. Installation notes

Use with 48V battery systems only. Connecting to a different voltage bank causes incorrect operation or damage. Check the array open-circuit voltage is within the controller's rated input limits before connecting, and fuse and size all wiring for the 30A charge current. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced installer. Not suitable for grid-tied or hybrid systems.
