Motorised automatic transfer switches from 63A upwards change a load between mains and generator or inverter supply without anyone present. PV surge protection devices are Class II, rated to 550VDC, and protect the inverter from induced surges on long DC runs. DC isolators to 1200V and fire-rated AC switch disconnectors from 25A to 250A cover the isolation points an installation needs to be signed off.
