Prime Accountants, Coventry: 60% Lighting Energy Savings with LED Panels

Prime Accountants, an independent chartered accountancy firm in Coventry, contacted Voltacon UK Ltd to replace the old recessed ceiling lights in its branch office. The firm wanted better quality lighting with a calm, warm working environment, and it wanted to cut electricity costs.

Ledison supplied 600x600 LED panel lights fed by Philips power supplies. These panels generate 20% more lumen output than ordinary edge-lit LED panels and offer dual colour output, switchable between natural white and cool white. The panels have an AC connector, so no extra tools were needed for the electrical installation, and they fit directly into the ceiling.

The lights were also connected to microwave occupancy sensors for additional energy savings. Energy consumption per lighting point dropped from 100W with the old lights to 40W with the new LED panels and Philips power supply, a 60% efficiency improvement across the site.
