GKN Driveline Firenze: LED Retrofit Across Warehouse, Shop Floor and Offices

Voltacon carried out an LED retrofit for GKN Driveline Firenze S.p.A, replacing old neon fittings across the warehouse, shop floor and office areas with LED lighting.

Warehouse

570 old 54W neon fittings, consuming 230,481 kWh/year, were replaced with 570 LED fittings at 22W, consuming 78,250 kWh/year. Project value was €19,934 with annual savings of €23,444.

Shop Floor

960 old 54W neon fittings, consuming 388,178 kWh/year, were replaced with 960 LED fittings at 22W, consuming 131,789 kWh/year. Project value was €31,680 with annual savings of €39,484.

A further 320 old 54W neon fittings, consuming 129,393 kWh/year, were replaced with 320 LED fittings at 30W, consuming 59,904 kWh/year. Project value was €7,800 with annual savings of €10,701.

Office

450 old 54W neon fittings, consuming 166,562 kWh/year, were replaced with 450 LED fittings at 40W, consuming 112,320 kWh/year. Project value was €25,200 with annual savings of €8,353.

Client feedback

Maurizio Mazzi, Environment Leader at GKN Driveline Firenze S.p.A, said the savings achieved were even better than initially considered, and that LED technology was a good choice. He confirmed satisfaction with the amount of light achieved.
