Product overview

This unit sits at the entry point of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. Taking 12V DC from a battery, it produces a 230V AC sine wave clean enough for equipment that a modified sine wave signal would damage or disrupt, including variable-speed tools, medical devices, audio gear and most electronics with switch-mode power supplies.

The VE.Direct interface lets the inverter communicate with Victron GX devices such as the Cerbo GX, and it can be monitored or configured from a smartphone or laptop via the VictronConnect app using a VE.Direct to USB or Bluetooth dongle. No extra hardware is needed beyond the interface cable to bring it into a wider Victron system.

Protection is automatic. The inverter shuts down cleanly on low battery voltage to protect the battery bank, cuts out on overload, and throttles or shuts down if internal temperatures go beyond safe limits.

Installation notes

The inverter connects directly to a 12V DC battery bank. DC cable sizing and fusing must suit the current draw at 500VA output, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced installer. It is not grid-connected and does not need G98 or G99 notification, but any fixed AC wiring must comply with BS 7671. Keep ventilation clear around the unit so the thermal protection can work as intended.
