Product Description

The Victron Inverter 24/250 takes power from a 24V DC battery bank and turns it into 230V AC, delivered through a SCHUKO socket on the unit itself. It is a compact pure sine wave inverter rated at 250VA. Small, but clean.

Victron power inverter features

  • Output: 250VA continuous at 230V AC, pure sine wave, from a 24V DC input.
  • Socket: SCHUKO outlet built into the unit, so loads plug straight in without extra wiring.
  • VE.Direct port: links to Victron monitoring devices, including the Color Control GX and compatible displays.
  • Weight: 2.6 kg.
  • Protection: low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature and overload protection.
  • Idle draw: low power consumption when no load is connected.

Where it fits

This is the entry point to the VE.Direct inverter range. It is not meant for high-draw appliances. What it handles well is the steady list of small loads found in off-grid cabins, narrowboats, campervans, motorhomes and telecoms enclosures: phone and laptop chargers, LED lighting circuits, small tools and instrumentation. Equipment that struggles on a modified sine wave supply will run on this one.

Monitoring over VE.Direct

Connect a Victron GX device, or use a VE.Direct to USB cable with VictronConnect on a PC. From there you can log performance data, set low-battery thresholds and receive alerts, which matters when the system is remote or left unattended.

Installation notes

The SCHUKO format is a European standard. For UK installations, a SCHUKO-to-UK plug adaptor or a hardwired connection via the socket may be needed depending on the application, so check the socket suits the intended load before specifying the unit. The inverter wires directly to a 24V battery bank, and DC cable sizing and fusing must match its input current draw. It is not suitable for grid-tied or mains-connected use. Leave adequate ventilation around it to avoid thermal shutdown under sustained load, and have it fitted by a qualified electrician or an installer experienced with DC systems.
